Mount Carmel Physicians Named to 2013 Class of Columbus Black Leaders

Columbus – Mount Carmel Health System is pleased to congratulate Charles Sanders, Jr., MD and Augustus Parker III, MD on being named to the 2013 Inaugural Class of Columbus Black Legends and Leaders. Both men are in the Leaders category.

These awards honor extraordinary Central Ohio African-Americans who have achieved success in their chosen profession and/or have made many significant contributions to the betterment of the community.

Dr. Sanders is the Vice President of Medical Education and directs the education of medical students and interns, Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education, and clinical research initiatives at Mount Carmel.

Dr. Parker is the System Medical Director of Robotic Surgery where he directs the activities of a system multi-disciplinary committee for Robotic Surgery. He is also founder of Columbus Women’s Care, an OBGYN practice in East Columbus.

Drs. Parker and Sanders will be honored during a gala on November 9 at the Columbus Hilton Easton. The Columbus Black Legends and Leaders Awards are organized by GrapeVine Columbus.
