Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Awarded an “A” on Hospital Safety ScoreSM by The Leapfrog Group

Columbus - Mount Carmel St. Ann’s was recently awarded with a safety score of “A” by the Leapfrog Group for its strong commitment to patient safety.

“This achievement demonstrates Mount Carmel’s commitment to delivering high-quality and safe care to our patients and their families,” said Claus von Zychlin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mount Carmel Health System.

The A score was awarded in the latest update to the Leapfrog Group’s Hospital Safety ScoreSM, the A, B, C, D or F scores assigned to U.S. hospitals based on preventable medical errors, injuries accidents, and infections.

“We are delighted to receive this prestigious honor and are grateful to our associates and physicians for their unwavering commitment to excellence in patient safety, quality and service,” said Janet Meeks, President and Chief Operating Officer of Mount Carmel St. Ann’s.

The Leapfrog Group Hospital Safety Score program grades hospitals on their overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors. The grades are derived from expert analysis of publicly available data using 26 evidence-based, national measures of hospital safety.
