Mount Carmel’s Employee Health & Wellness Program Earns Accolades from ODH

Program Wins Silver Level Award from Healthy Ohio Business Council

Columbus - Mount Carmel’s employee health and wellness program, Live Your Whole Life, has earned the 2012 Healthy Ohioans – Healthy Worksite Silver Level Award from the Ohio Department of Health’s Healthy Ohio Business Council (HOBC).

“We are honored to be recognized with this award. We are working hard to change the culture of health, wellness and safety here at Mount Carmel. We believe that it is important for our associates to act as role models to our patients, their families and to the communities we serve. If our associates who work in healthcare believe in health and wellness for themselves, it will be even easier to get our communities to believe in a healthy lifestyle, too,” said Christine Browning, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Mount Carmel.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, a total of 86 companies, cities and townships applied for the 2012 awards, which recognize Ohio employers who demonstrate a commitment to employee health through comprehensive worksite health promotion and wellness programs.

This Silver-Level award recognizes employers that demonstrate a commitment to employee health by incorporating comprehensive worksite health promotion and wellness programs. It acknowledges efforts to facilitate and encourage employee health, enhance productivity and ensure a healthy work environment.

Mount Carmel will receive the award at the annual luncheon as part of the Health Action Ohio Council Columbus Kick-Off Conference held Tuesday, January 29 at the Embassy Suites in Dublin. For more information on the Healthy Worksite Awards, visit healthyohioprogram.org/Businesses/howkawd.aspx.
