Whittey Joins Mount Carmel Health System as Chief Pharmacy Officer

Columbus – Mount Carmel is pleased to announce the appointment of Janet Whittey as Chief Pharmacy Officer.

“Janet brings more than 20 years of pharmacy experience to Mount Carmel,” said Richard Streck, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Operations Officer of Mount Carmel Health System. “Her experience and leadership will help optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of pharmacy services across our health system.”

Prior to joining Mount Carmel, Whittey was with Baylor University in Dallas, Texas, where she was Director of Pharmacy for three hospitals. Before her time at Baylor, Whittey spent eleven years at Cardinal Health in Columbus. During her tenure, Whittey rose through the company to become the National Vice President for Sales within the CareFusion division.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to join Mount Carmel’s talented associates,” said Whittey. “Moving forward, our commitment is for pharmacy to work closely with our physician and nurse colleagues to achieve improved outcomes for the patients and mission we serve.”

Whittey received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and her Masters of Business Administration from York University in Toronto, Canada.
