Leaders with Mount Carmel Health System took to the streets of Franklinton to clean up more than 2,900 pounds of trash. The event was organized with help from the Franklinton Board of Trade as part of the city's Keep Columbus Beautiful efforts.
During the volunteer project, nearly 90 members of Mount Carmel's leadership team worked to clean up the area surrounding Mount Carmel West and Avondale Elementary.
"Mount Carmel’s mission is to improve the health and wellness of individuals in the communities we serve and to steward the resources entrusted to us. Those resources include our environment," said Sister Barbara Hahl, Senior Vice President, Mission Services. "Our organization has an important, longstanding relationship with the Franklinton Community and this is a great way to give back."
The volunteers picked up 97 bags of trash and 33 bags of recycling. This is the second year that Mount Carmel has participated in Keep Columbus Beautiful.
