PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident
BS Biochemistry and Cell Biology; Doctorate of Pharmacy
University of California – San Diego; The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy
I worked as a pharmacy technician at CVS Pharmacy in California before starting pharmacy school in Ohio. Then I became a pharmacy intern for 3.5 years at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital.
Areas of interest
I am interested in becoming a clinical pharmacist with opportunities to precept students and thus I'm currently pursuing my teaching certificate at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. Although I enjoy engaging in many different areas in patient care, I am especially interested in infectious disease and critical care. In addition, I hope to continue community outreach, especially educating patients on their medication and disease states.
After completing a PGY-1 residency, I would like to pursue a career as a full time pharmacist at a teaching hospital, where I can continue to learn and to precept students. My long-term professional goal is to effectively collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide free patient education courses. I also look forward to staying involved with professional pharmacy organizations.
About the resident
Originally from San Diego, CA, I ventured to Columbus, OH to complete my pharmacy doctorate at OSU. Little did I know I would love this city and stay for a residency. I am a collector of hobbies, mainly in photography, arts and crafts, many outdoor activities, and training my adorable beagle.
Although I am known simply as Khanh, I am not, in fact, Captain Kirk’s mortal enemy.
