Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the emergency departments at Mount Carmel East, West and St. Ann's offer quality, comprehensive emergency medical care to more the 220,000 patients each year.
With streamlined emergency procedures and advanced diagnostic processes, our emergency medical team of experienced physicians, specially trained nurses and other healthcare professionals provides treatment for patients with a wide variety of medical needs.
Working together with cardiologists, emergency physicians and cath lab staff, Mount Carmel has also developed rapid triage processes and special response teams to identify cardiovascular problems and promptly route these patients through the necessary levels of care. Our door-to-EKG time is below 10 minutes, and a unique treatment protocol allows us to treat nine out of 10 heart attack patients in less than 90 minutes which is nearly 20% better than the national average. By reducing time to treatment and demonstrating excellence in eight key areas of care for chest pain and heart attacks, Mount Carmel East, West and St. Ann's are all recognized as Accredited Chest Pain Centers by the Society of Chest Pain Centers.
For patients requiring a higher level of care, we offer a wide range of services — everything from angioplasty and stent placement to complex surgical procedures.
