Hospice Volunteers

Mount Carmel Hospice provides quality care for individuals diagnosed with a life-limiting illness and helps families through this difficult time. Our interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, social workers, health aides, chaplains, counselors and trained volunteers works together to provide comfort and care with an emphasis on quality of life. Our volunteers enhance this focus.

The number of ways to volunteer with Mount Carmel Hospice are endless, as are the rewards.

As an Administrative Volunteer you can assist the office staff in managing our various programs.

As a Bereavement Team Member, you will be providing direct support to individuals who have lost a family member, friend, and/or loved on. You will be doing this by making phone calls to check in how their grieving process is going and assess if they need any additional grief-related resources or support.

As a member or former member of the United States Armed Forces, you can serve as a Forever Free Veteran Volunteer providing a unique form of support and companionship to our patients who are veterans.

As a Patient Care Team Member, you will provide a compassionate, empathetic, and mindful presence to our Patients. You will also serve as a source of much needed calm and support to our Patient's caregivers and/or families and perform helpful tasks.

As a Special Project Volunteer you can share your time, energy and personal talents to help hospice patients and their families complete quality-of-life projects like decorating a small artificial tree for the holidays or assembling donated flowers to be delivered by hospice staff.

As a member of our Therapy Dog Team you and your licensed, certified therapy dog can visit our patients and their families at their request.
