Mount Carmel offers advanced treatment for patients with colorectal and intestinal disorders, as well as those diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Our experienced, fellowship-trained surgeons use state-of-the-art technologies and techniques, including minimally invasive surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation, to not only treat colorectal disease but also preserve bladder, bowel and sexual function.
Mount Carmel's enterostomal therapy program offers patients counseling prior to ostomy surgery, as well as post-operative care, education and stoma care.
We're actively involved in clinical research, offering a variety of cancer treatment protocols for colorectal patients. We participate in a genetics risk clinical trial that will describe the incidence and prevalence of genetically determined colon cancer risk for Ohio. Mount Carmel also is an active participant in a number of other FDA- and NCI-sponsored research programs involving the efficacy of a variety of chemotherapy and radiation regimens in colorectal patients.
