Mount Carmel's neuroscience program combines extensive experience, compassion and technology to provide the very best in patient care. From detection and diagnosis, to treatment, research and recovery, we are a local, regional and national leader in neurological care. Among the reasons patients trust us with their care:

  • Mount Carmel's team consists of board-certified neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neuropsychologists and an experienced, tenured nursing staff.
  • We provide a diversity of neuroscience services, including stroke interventions, transcranial doppler studies, long-term epilepsy monitoring, EEG testing, spinal fusions, artificial disc replacements and more.
  • Mount Carmel East, West and St. Ann’s have coordinated rapid response systems in place for treating stroke patients. Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center Certification has been earned by Mount Carmel East and West. Mount Carmel St. Ann’s is actively working toward this designation.
  • Dedicated neuroscience units with epilepsy monitoring are located at Mount Carmel East and West. Mount Carmel West also features a neuro ICU.
  • Our experienced staff of neuroradiologists provides diagnostic imaging services utilizing the latest technologies, including 64-slice CT scanners, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, x-ray, angiography, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine and PET scanning.
  • Mount Carmel was the first Columbus-area hospital to operate the Stealth Station — a computer-aided, image-guided navigation system that allows surgeons to more clearly and precisely perform delicate spinal procedures.
  • We are able to offer a range of outpatient services like home care and occupational, physical and speech therapy.
  • Our CARF-accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation Center offers a comprehensive integrated general rehabilitation program as well as a stroke specialty program.
