If you're interested in providing a valued community service, pursuing personal growth, continuing a lifetime of learning, exploring a meaningful career, or returning a kindness shown to you while you were a patient, Mount
Carmel has a unique variety of volunteer opportunities to match your interest.
Our more than 1,000 volunteers work with patients, families and staff to create an environment of care and support by assisting clinical staff, providing directions, information and support to patient families and visitors, stocking needed supplies, delivering flowers, working in one of our gift shops, or lending a hand with clerical duties. Volunteers generally work one four-hour shift per week. We also have volunteer opportunities through the Mount Carmel Hospice program.
Getting started is as simple as filling out a volunteer application and meeting with volunteer staff for a brief interview. We'll learn about your skills, interests, and the amount of time you have to offer and then match you with a volunteer assignment that best reflects your skills, interests and experience. After that, you'll participate in Mount Carmel's volunteer orientation program, during which you'll learn the hospital's policies and procedures, and hear about our volunteer benefits.
