Most online CME activities take 1-2 hours to complete, and proper completion of online CME will earn Mount Carmel physicians category 1 credit. This activity provides physicians with cognitive information pertaining
to the management of patients receiving moderate sedation. The activity
addresses care for the awake patient during a procedure requiring moderate
sedation and examines patient care requirements, monitoring parameters,
and suggested knowledge and skill requirements. In addition, medications
commonly administered to induce moderate sedation are identified. |

Ethics at the Beginning and End of Life - CME Hours: 1.5
| Target Audience: |
Obstetrics and gynecology professionals, clinical ethics
committee members, healthcare administrators, and anyone involved in patient care. |
| Description: |
The purpose of this 2-part online CME activity is to enhance clinical
care at the beginning of life and at the end of life through greater awareness
and knowledge of ethical principles and decision-making processes. Part
I of this activity focuses on ethical considerations in reproductive medicine
and in the treatment and care of patients who are expecting, and Part II
of this activity focuses on treatment and care of the dying patient. The
content is consistent with Roman Catholic tradition, the US Bishops' document
Ethical and Religious Directive for Catholic Health Care Services, and
ethical principles. This online CME activity was originally designed by
Trinity Health ethicists and then adapted by Mission Services leadership at Mount Carmel. |

Radiologists, cardiologists, urologists, podiatrists, plastic surgeons,
colon-rectal surgeons, endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, nephrologists,
neurosurgeons, oral surgeons, cardio/thoracic surgeons, and general surgeons.
Mount Carmel and The Ohio Department of Health mandate that many members
of the healthcare community participate in radiation safety training.
