Medical Students
Mount Carmel is home to a rich variety of educational programs. In addition to its six postgraduate residency programs, the Mount Carmel College of Nursing celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2003. Mount Carmel's educational environment, however, would not be complete without medical students.

We are a major clinical teaching site for The Ohio State University and Wright State University Colleges of Medicine. From medical year 2 (M2) physical diagnosis to M3 clerkships in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Surgery, and Obstetrics/Gynecology, through multiple M4 electives, students from geographically-dispersed medical schools join us to fulfill a piece of their vision for the future. We view their presence as a trust. Therefore, we ensure that the time spent on our campuses is enriched with the tools medical students need to succeed in their future careers.

In addition to providing enriching educational opportunities, we strive to make the experience at Mount Carmel as accommodating as possible. To this end, our call rotation is specific to each department. When a rotation is approved, you have the opportunity to schedule your nights of call. In-house overnight call always includes an evening meal, and parking is available, free-of-charge, on surface lots surrounding the hospital.

We realize that today's medical students will become the resident physicians of tomorrow. We treat them like family and hope that a relationship begun with Mount Carmel in medical school continues throughout postgraduate training and into practice. Come and see what we have to offer students!
