Medical Staff Service Excellence Award |
The Medical Staff Service Excellence award is presented each year to an outstanding physician for his or her unselfish dedication to the mission of Mount Carmel St Ann’s. Nominated physicians must be Active, Retired/Emeritus or Honorary members of the Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Medical Staff and have made significant contributions to Medical Staff activities and to the hospital.
The 2007 Service Excellence award recipient is Leigh Herman, MD.
A dedicated member of Mount Carmel St Ann’s Medical Staff, Dr. Herman’s leadership, innovation, clinical knowledge and relentless dedication to patients’ well being were the reasons behind his nomination for the award.
He graduated from The Ohio State University School of Medicine in 1980 and completed a residency and fellowship in Radiology there. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology.
Dr. Herman joined the Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Medical Staff in 1988 and is currently an active member of the Department of Radiology. During his tenure he has held several important positions including:

- Cancer Center Committee
- Medical Informatics Committee
- Emergency Performance Improvement team
- Radiology Medical Director
