Mount Carmel Financial Assistance Programs

These programs provide financial assistance based on your income, expenses and other circumstances.

Hospital Care Assurance Program (HCAP)

The HCAP is available to patients who:

• Are Ohio residents
• Are not currently receiving Medicaid benefits
• Have a personal/family income that is at or below federal poverty guidelines

If you are eligible for this program, you will not be charged for hospital services. You will be responsible for paying your physicians' bills and for any prescription drugs you take home from Mount Carmel's outpatient pharmacy. (Depending on the services you received, you may be billed by your personal physician, other physicians who were involved in your care, and/or physicians who administered/interpreted your test results, including, but not limited to, bills for such services as emergency care, radiology, pathology and anesthesiology.) Applying For Financial Assistance

Onsite financial counselors are available at each hospital campus — Mount Carmel East, West, St. Ann's and New Albany Surgical Hospital — to help you resolve your hospital bills. Customer service representatives are also available by calling 614-234-8888 or 800-346-1009 Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
