Patient is not to have food, liquids or take heart medications 6 hours before the scheduled stress test time. No caffeine after midnight, which includes coffee (regular and decaf), chocolate products, tea, cola, etc. No theophylline medications 36-48 hours before the test, which includes Aerolite, Constant-T, Elixophylline, Primatene tablets, Quibron, Slo-bid, TPHYL, Tedral SA, Theo-24 and Theox. If you have any questions about your medications, please check with your doctor. This exam requires the patient to return 1-3 hours after the first appointment time for scanning to be completed.
