As a healthcare leader in central Ohio, it is our responsibility to help safeguard the health of every person we serve and to model healthy behavior in the community. With that responsibility in mind, all Mount Carmel property became tobacco and smoke-free on January 1, 2007. This policy includes all campuses, building interiors and exteriors, and parking areas and applies to all employees, patients and visitors.
Becoming a tobacco and smoke-free environment also helps fulfill Mount Carmel’s Mission "to heal body, mind and spirit," and "to improve the health of our communities."
In enacting this policy, Mount Carmel joined hospitals across Columbus, the state of Ohio and the nation in moving toward tobacco-free environments.
