Mount
Carmel offers a host of helpful cancer care services in one place to support
you through your cancer diagnosis through your treatment and beyond. Our Cancer
Resource Centers are comprehensive places for support, services and comfort
care products created with you and your treatment in mind. These support
centers are part of Mount Carmel's Compassionate Care Network that supports our
patients and families.
Services
- A Resource Library - Relax in a family room atmosphere while doing researching on the Internet, viewing DVDs or reading a book. Our sizable collection of cancer support materials is also available for check-out. (Sponsored and supported by the American Cancer Society.)
- Educational Classes - We host a wide range of events in this dedicated space, including an educational forum for family caregivers, a Look Good Feel Better class for women experiencing treatment side effects, a Breast Cancer Care Class for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, nutritional education, lymphedema education and more.
- Comfort Products - Here you'll find a number of quality products, including prostheses, lymphedema sleeves, wigs and hats, skin care products and inspirational books and music, available to you.
- Patient Support Team - Our entire Mount Carmel Cancer Support Staff is available to you in one place. A dietician, social worker and patient navigator are located in the Center, with access to additional support team members with the Cancer Risk Program, spiritual care and psychological intervention just a call away.
The
staff and volunteers are committed to providing you with complete,
compassionate support during your diagnosis and treatment. With many having
experienced cancer first-hand, they're eager to provide you with the resources
and support to make your experience as informed and comfortable as it can be.

*Jan's Place was named in the
memory of Jan Hurley who passed away from breast cancer in 1998. Jan is
remembered as a woman who "gave so much to her community, family and friends".
