Electrophysiology
The right treatment for heart arrhythmia depends on each patient's condition and diagnosis. That’s why Mount Carmel offers a broad array of procedures to treat heart rhythm disturbances.

Our highly trained physicians utilize minimally invasive techniques like ablation and cardioversion and surgical solutions like pacemaker and ICD implants to treat arrhythmia.

Ablation

Mount Carmel offers two ablation techniques. Catheter ablation is a non-surgical technique that uses heat energy to destroy heart muscle cells responsible for an arrhythmia. Atrial fibrillation ablation, which uses radiofrequency energy to cauterize the heart tissue around pulmonary veins to remedy arrhythmia, is also available.

Cardioversion

Cardioversion sends electrical energy to the heart muscle to restore normal rhythm. Our expert physicians use this procedure to treat conditions like atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter and ventricular tachycardia.
