At
Mount Carmel, an expert team of
board-certified neonatal physicians and neonatal nurse practitioners provide
around-the-clock care for babies who are born prematurely, at a low birth
weight, moderately or critically ill, or with complicated medical conditions.
Level
II Special Care Nurseries at Mount Carmel East and West, and the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mount Carmel St. Ann's, all feature high tech incubators designed
to limit light and noise and enhance infant growth. Here, newborns receive
continuous cardiac respiratory and oxygen saturation monitoring. Advanced
monitoring and treatments are available for newborns whose conditions require
them.
