Orthopedics
Led by a team of board-certified physicians and supported by specially trained registered nurses and physical and occupational therapists, Mount Carmel's comprehensive orthopedics program offers prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a full spectrum of joint diseases, disorders and injuries.

Our more than 50 board-certified orthopedic surgeons apply innovative techniques and procedures to hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and reconstructions; hand, wrist, shoulder and elbow injuries; spine and back disorders; foot and ankle disabilities; musculoskeletal surgeries; and arthritis intervention every day.

While we have a host of generalists who can care for a variety of orthopedic needs, many of our physicians have chosen to specialize in one of the following areas:

With orthopedic specialists at each of our central Ohio hospitals and outpatient surgery centers, Mount Carmel performs more joint replacement surgeries than any other hospital system in Columbus, yet has fewer complications in many common orthopedic surgeries. In fact, our complication rates are lower than national benchmarks, ensuring our patients can get back to their lives as quickly and safely as possible.

With our progressive, research-based approach and an orthopedic residency program ranked in the top 1% of programs nationwide on the 2006 standardized in-training examination, Mount Carmel continues to set the standard in orthopedic care.
