Breast Ultrasound

Mount Carmel technicians use painless breast ultrasound to identify and assess cystic or solid masses in the breast. With a physician referral, we offer full-service breast ultrasound services in the comfortable environment of one of our Women's Health Centers.

Bone Density Testing

Mount Carmel offers both ultrasound and dual X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA scan) to measure bone density and aid in the early diagnosis of osteoporosis. The ultrasound measures bone density at the heel using sound waves rather than radiation and can identify those who are good candidates for a Dexa scan. The DEXA scan is an accurate, painless and noninvasive test to diagnose bone loss and is valuable in helping patients prevent or treat osteoporosis and reduce their risk of fracture.

Pelvic Ultrasound

For patients who are experiencing pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, or other menstrual problems, our ultrasound technicians can utilize a painless pelvic ultrasound to identify and assess things like cysts and fibroid growths, as well as ovarian or uterine cancers. With a physician referral, Mount Carmel makes full-service pelvic ultrasound services available at our convenient outpatient imaging centers.
