Patient Satisfaction
Compassion, respect and excellence are core values of Mount Carmel. We are committed to providing safe, high quality care and exceptional patient experiences. One important way we identify opportunities for improvement is through an ongoing patient satisfaction survey.

Our patient satisfaction survey is conducted by an independent research firm (Press Ganey) using a standardized questionnaire adopted by the majority of hospitals across the country. Our goal is to be in the top decile (top 10%) of hospitals nationwide – we are currently above the state and national averages and have been making consistent progress towards top decile performance. Shown below is our data for patients discharged in a twelve month period from July 2008 through June 2009. Comparison data for Ohio and the Nation is for t from the Hospital Compare website and is for the time period January 2008 through December 2008.

To see how our patient satisfaction compares to other hospitals in central Ohio, visit the Hospital Compare website (www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov) created in a national initiative by the United States Department of Health and Human Services and other organizations. The data reported in Hospital Compare is consistent with the data reported on our website but not as current. Also, Hospital Compare provides a combined score for Mount Carmel East and Mount Carmel West whereas our website reports show each hospital individually.
