Mount Carmel East and West Surgical Spine Programs Named UnitedHealth Premium Specialty Centers |

Mount Carmel East and Mount Carmel West surgical spine programs have received UnitedHealthcare's quality and efficiency designation as Premium Specialty Centers.
Mount Carmel East and West’s surgical spine program have both been designated as UnitedHealth Premium Specialty Centers in recognition of their capabilities, quality care, outstanding outcomes and cost efficiency.
The designation is based on a long list of criteria, including staff and surgeon experience, procedure volumes, available emergency services, data management, surgical outcomes, post-operative care and overall cost efficiency. UnitedHealthcare also conducts a thorough review of the specialized training, practice capabilities and proficiencies of each eligible facility, including breadth and depth of care, staff experience and emergency care.
The program is designed to help consumers make more informed choices in selecting facilities that are high quality and more cost efficient in delivering medical care.
