When to visit a Mount Carmel Wound Care Center:

  • You have a sore or wound that hasn't healed in 30 days
  • Your sore is increasing in size, pain, or swelling, or has a sudden change in color or unpleasant odor
  • You have an infected surgical wound

What to expect at your first appointment:

During your initial visit, we will examine your slow healing wound and ask about your personal and medical history. We may remove any dead tissue in or surrounding your wound and conduct testing if needed to rule out possibilities of an infection. Your provider will develop a treatment option in addition to teaching you how to best care for your wound at home. A follow-up appointment may be necessary to ensure the wound is healing properly.
