Jim Karam is the Founder of Syrus Restaurant Information Services, one of the leading providers of manager productivity tools and above-store reporting systems in the restaurant industry. Syrus provides thousands of restaurant managers, owners and executives with tools and information to grow sales, manage and reduce costs and improve operational performance and efficiencies.

A graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism, Jim started Syrus in 1996 after spending the early part of his career developing and providing similar tools to his family's Wendy's franchise business, Cedar Enterprises. Syrus grew to over 40 people, serving nearly 3,000 restaurants in many national chains, including Wendy's, Popeyes, Sbarro and Arby's as well as more than a dozen regional chains in the Quick Service and Fast Casual restaurant segments. Following a 2015 sale of the company to a private equity firm (Marlin EquityPartners) which merged it with another company (Vivonet), Jim stayed on for several months to lead its integration with Vivonet. He currently provides strategic consulting services for various technology, data analytics and start-up businesses through his firm, Karam Advisory Services.

He is the Chairman of the Finance Committee for St. Brigid of Kildare parish in Dublin where he oversees the multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets, planning and fundraising for one of the largest parishes in the Diocese of Columbus. He has also served, since 2011, as Chairman of the Sponsorship Committee for Discover the Dream, one of the largest fundraising events in the country for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. In that capacity, his efforts help raise over $500,000 per year for the hospital. He currently provides strategic consulting services for various technology companies.
