Behavioral Health

Mount Carmel provides acute inpatient behavioral healthcare services for adults 18 and older. Licensed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and accredited by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Health Care Organization (JCAHO), our highly trained interdisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, occupational therapists, nurses, social workers, counselor assistants, chaplains, and other professionals. Together they work with patients and their families to provide an individualized treatment plan that strives to return patients to a community setting as quickly as possible.

A family doctor or therapist can arrange admission to Mount Carmel's behavioral healthcare unit by calling 866-260-9267.

In the event of a mental health emergency, go to the nearest mental health emergency services center (Netcare Access, if in Franklin County), visit any hospital Emergency Department, or call 911. Once an evaluation is complete, appropriate referrals can be made. Crisis calls for patients recently discharged from the unit are handled by the psychiatric services staff.
