The Mount Carmel Bariatric Center is accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), a part of the American College of Surgeons. MBSAQIP works to advance safe, high-quality care for bariatric surgical patients through the accreditation of bariatric surgical centers. Plus, our nationally accredited Bariatric Center performs the greatest number of minimally invasive robotic weight loss procedures in the Central Ohio area.
If you would prefer a non-surgical approach to weight management, Mount Carmel Health System and Central Ohio Surgical Associates (COSA) have partnered to create a new program designed to combine weight loss medications alongside diet and lifestyle modification to promote improved health outcomes. If interested, simply fill out our online pre-screening application form and, if eligible, COSA will contact you to schedule your initial consultation.
Our program at Mount Carmel includes three of the best bariatric surgeons in Ohio and specialized staff that includes a nurse practitioner, bariatric nurse navigator, bariatric dietitian and specially-trained nurses. It's an experienced, consistent, compassionate team that allows us to not only provide comprehensive care and achieve excellent outcomes that are well above national measures, but also to be here for patients like you long before and long after your weight loss surgery — when that understanding and experience matter most.
Weight-loss surgery, also known as bariatric surgery, can be an effective treatment for those at risk for weight-related health conditions and quality-of-life issues, especially when other treatments come up short. Is it right for you? Learn more with this quick survey. It takes only a few minutes to complete.
Health Risk Assessments (HRAs) are tools for patients to get a sense of their risk for developing conditions. These quizzes are not meant to be a clinical diagnosis or clinical review; they are meant to be directional - to provide consumers with information to discuss with their healthcare providers. The quizzes take no longer than five minutes to complete and provide some useful information and recommendations based on how questions are answered.
