Since our inception, educating medical professionals to elevate the standard of care has been a core mission of both Mount Carmel Health System and the Department of Medical Education. Mount Carmel Medical Education consists of the Department of Continuing Medical Education (CME) and the Department of Graduate Medical Education (GME), which includes six residency programs: Family Practice, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Orthopaedics, and Transitional Year.

What ingredients are necessary to create an outstanding environment for Medical Education? It comes down to a nucleus of talented people who care, at a place where their passion is shared. When teaching faculty and Medical Education staff are accessible and collegial, and give of their talents readily, learning can become infectious.
