Project DAWN

Project DAWN

It’s no secret that there has been an overwhelming surge in opiate overdoses and fatalities within our communities. It’s a saddening and devastating challenge, and Mount Carmel wants to be part of the solution. That’s why Community Health & Well-Being has joined forces with Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided With Naloxone), a community-based overdose education and Narcan (naloxone) distribution program.

Our Project DAWN program provides Narcan kits free-of-charge to those without health insurance and limited financial means. Narcan is a safe medication that can reverse an overdose caused by prescription pain medication or heroin and save lives.

To request your Project DAWN Narcan kit, visit the Mount Carmel Street Medicine Program, email projectdawn@mchs.com or call 614-234-4777 for more information. When you request a kit, you'll also be screened and taught how to recognize and respond to an overdose.
