Coleman Joins Mount Carmel Health System as Senior V. P. & Chief Financial Officer

Columbus – Mount Carmel is pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Coleman as Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer.

“Keith brings more than 30 years of healthcare finance experience to Mount Carmel. This expertise will be very beneficial as we continue working to fulfill our mission of delivering high-quality care as efficiently as possible in the new, emerging healthcare environment that is being shaped by healthcare reform and market forces,” said Claus von Zychlin, President & Chief Executive Officer of Mount Carmel Health System

Prior to joining Mount Carmel on December 10, Coleman was the Chief Financial Officer of Adena Health System in Chillicothe for the past four and half years. He also served as President of the Southern Ohio Healthcare Network, a collaboration of Adena, O’Bleness Health System in Athens and Holzer Health Systems in Gallipolis to improve healthcare access in 13 Ohio Appalachian counties and rural underserved areas.

“I am excited about the opportunity to help Mount Carmel build upon a tremendous track record of more than 125 years of serving the community,” said Coleman. “Moving forward, Mount Carmel is also very well positioned to continue to deliver high-quality and efficient patient care in an evolving healthcare delivery system.”

Prior to his time at Adena, Coleman held several leadership roles, including President of University Hospitals Faculty Services at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Vice President of Fiscal Affairs & Chief Financial Officer for Community Hospitals, interim Chief Financial Officer at Humility of Mary Health Partners in Youngstown, and Senior Vice President of Finance (CFO) at Geisinger Health System in Danville, Penn.

Coleman has also served as President & Chief Executive Officer of a Cleveland consulting firm which helps healthcare clients improve their financial and operating performance, as Chief Financial Officer of a Cleveland bioinformatics company, and as Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of an Indianapolis home health company.

He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and mathematics from Marietta College. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
