Over-the-Counter (OTC) Benefits

Better access to over-the-counter tools to keep you healthy and independent

It takes a lot more than prescription medication to support your health as you age. Your needs change as you get older and so do the tools needed to support that.

Today’s older adults are healthier and more independent than in previous generations. Still, most are managing at least one chronic health condition that requires over-the-counter medication or supplies, according to the National Council on Aging.

Acetaminophen, aspirin, and diphenhydramine are over-the-counter medications frequently used by older adults. These provide temporary relief from short and long-term health issues, but also come at a cost when purchased over time.

Our over-the-counter (OTC) allowance helps you pay for the growing number of items needed in categories such as cold remedies, digestive health, allergies, and adult care. This quarterly allowance is a supplemental coverage on a wide selection of trusted, quality CVS-branded and name-brand products without the need for a prescription.

The over-the-counter allowance alleviates stress that can come from purchasing items that keep you healthy and independent. The product catalog gives you access to hundreds of important resources ranging from vitamins to blood pressure monitors.
