F. Kevin Hackett, MD


Dr. F. Kevin Hackett is chairman of the Mount Carmel Department of Cardiovascular Medicine. He also serves as chairman of the Mount Carmel Heart & Vascular Center Executive Committee and a member of the Medical Executive Committee, the Central Medical Peer Review Committee, the Trinity Health Cardiovascular Excellence Committee and the Central Credentials Committee.

Dr. Hackett has been a practicing cardiologist at Mount Carmel since 1993 and a member of Mount Carmel Medical Group since 2008. Dr. Hackett launched and led Mount Carmel’s cardiac ablation program and is the former director of the system’s Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratories.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in pre-professional studies at the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree with honors from The Ohio State University. He completed his internship and residency at Barnes Hospital at the Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis and a fellowship in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at the Krannert Institute of Cardiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. During his time there, he also served as the chief cardiology fellow and as an assistant professor of medicine.

He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Diseases and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He’s also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiologists and a member of the Heart Rhythm Society.

In addition to his active involvement at Mount Carmel, Dr. Hackett serves as a member of the Independent Physician Quality Panel at Medtronic Inc.
