Nidhi Satiani
Dr. Nidhi Satiani is a scientist committed to merging voices and values with scientific knowledge to elevate communities. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology, master's degrees in vision science and public health, and a doctorate in optometry from The Ohio State University and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
She currently works as a Senior Research Optometrist at The Ohio State University and has previously served as the Director of Clinical Services for two start-up companies, as a research consultant for FDA trials, and in clinical practice.
Satiani is very involved in the community. She was elected to the Upper Arlington Board of Education and began her four-year term in January 2022. She also serves on the Board of Directors for both Erase the Space and Ohio State Mortar Board Alumni Council. The former is a non-profit that gives teenagers the power to be agents of change and to repair public discourse through a facilitated, year-long writing exchange between students of different backgrounds on an authentically developed idea to address problems facing their community. The latter was the first honor society for women who were college seniors and has grown to promote equal opportunities among all peoples through scholarship, leadership, and service. She is also active in the Columbus Metropolitan Club as a lifetime member.
Satiani lives in Upper Arlington with her husband and two children. When she is not working for the community, she can be found cheering her children on at various sporting events, drama or choral productions, and chess tournaments
