In the true spirit of Christmas, Mount Carmel's Population Health team adopted a family from The Buckeye Ranch for the 2016 holiday season. Susan Speakman, the team's population healthcare specialist, posted the family’s "wish list” about a month and a half before the holiday, and through generous donations from across the department, every item on the list was provided to the family.

It was a tremendous gift of love and support for a single mom who’s not only looking after four kids but taking care of her parents as well.

“They were overwhelmed with the amount we brought,” said Lynn Laube, who helped deliver the gifts with Speakman. “And while they felt blessed to have their ‘wishes’ come true, we were reminded once again what a giving, loving group we get to work with in this department every day. Special thanks to Susan, who led the effort and really made it successful, and to every employee who participated. It was an incredible experience and a true reminder of what Christmas is all about.”
