Visitation Policy
General Visitation
- Patients may choose who can visit them, including advocates, family, friends, spouses, or partners, and may withdraw that permission at any time. The hospital supports open visitation whenever possible.
- Visitors may be restricted or asked to leave if there are safety concerns, clinical needs, infection-control issues, or if visitation interferes with the rights of others.
- One advocate, family member, friend, or significant other may stay with the patient during the admission, and overnight visitors must be adults able to care for themselves.
ICU Visitation
- Visiting hours: 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
- Overnight visitation: Each ICU patient may have one designated overnight support person/ advocate who is at least 18 years old. That advocate/support person can be changed as needed.
- Number of visitors: During visiting hours, up to two visitors at a time are permitted in the room due to patient care equipment and medical needs.
- Children: Children under age 12 are not permitted in the ICU unless special accommodations are approved. Any visiting child must remain with an adult who is not the patient.
- The ICU may establish quiet hours during the day when visitors may be encouraged to leave or keep visits very quiet to allow patients to rest. Visitation may also be adjusted if patient or staff safety becomes a concern.
