Because You Were In Need

Mount Carmel West was recently contacted about a family without health insurance coverage whose children needed medical attention.

The staff was able to work with Dr. O'Handley to arrange for the family to receive care when the Outreach Coach returned to Holy Family. The two oldest children also were able to have their dental needs met, thanks to a local dentist.

Colleagues in Radiology went a step further, spearheading efforts to provide each of the children with a backpack full of personal care items, school supplies and toys. But, there is more…

The Radiology team decided to extend their help beyond that given to the kids in this needy family by providing school supplies to students at nearby Avondale Elementary School. The team received so many school supply donations that it took several bins to contain them all. The supplies were delivered to the principal and teachers at Avondale, along with an estimated 90 backpacks, filled with even more school supplies.

To the MCW Radiology, Dr. O'Handley, the Outreach Coach team, thank you! Because of you, a whole lot of needy students started this school year in a healthier, happier place.
