The members of Mount Carmel's Internal Medicine Residency Program are a diverse group of physicians, the breadth of which brings to the program a rich and inspiring variety of perspectives on healthcare and medicine.

  • Why I chose Mount Carmel: I felt so welcomed by the physicians, nurses, and other staff during a 4th-year rotation at Mount Carmel. It felt like a place where I would enjoy training for the next three years. Being from Columbus, I knew I wanted to stay in central Ohio at a community hospital.

  • Why I chose Mount Carmel: Definitely the “Mount Carmel Family.” I enjoyed the warm, welcoming atmosphere I had the opportunity to experience during my audition rotation. Additionally, the faculty's dedication and passion to teach and provide feedback were things I found incredibly valuable and made my decision a lot clearer.

  • Why I chose Mount Carmel: I started my medical journey at Mount Carmel as a scribe and I have always been impressed with the organization’s supportive environment with regards to both its education and wellness for its employees. In addition to its close proximity to my family, the program also boasts a beautiful new hospital and many opportunities for getting involved with research and fellowship pursuits.

  • Why I chose Mount Carmel: I chose Mount Carmel Health because of its excellent support for residents and students in their education and skill-building, as well as the abundance of development opportunities and a mission-driven culture of caring. The other reason that captivated me is the diversity that is highly embraced at this program. Additionally, I found the community in Central Ohio as friendly and very inviting.

There is ample opportunity to be involved in wellness, research, and community service in the greater Columbus/Grove City area. After communicating with some of the residents and faculty, I know my medical training is in good hands at Mount Carmel’s Internal Medicine program.

  • Why I chose Mount Carmel: There were several compelling factors that led me to choose Mount Carmel. Firstly, I was drawn to the program’s reputation for fostering a genuinely friendly and supportive environment. It immediately struck me as a place where I would thrive and find satisfaction in my work. Additionally, the prospect of remaining within driving distance of family and being in the same city as many of my friends was another significant influence.

I was impressed by how the program is supportive of tailoring my residency track to my clinical interests in Cardiology. The program also emphasizes mentorship and collegiality, which is the type of training environment I best learn in. Columbus is a great place to live, and I plan to explore the various restaurants, parks, arts and music scene throughout my residency.
