Mount Carmel offers a painless, non-invasive screening to test for carotid artery disease called a carotid ultrasound. It uses high frequency sound waves to view the arteries and blood flow in your neck, looking for plaque, blockages and narrowing. The test is both easy and effective in detecting the disease.
Mount Carmel makes three different vascular screenings available at Mount Carmel East, West and St. Ann's. All screenings are performed using state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment in one of our ICAVL-accredited labs and interpreted by one of our board-certified physicians.
