Celebrating survivors – Mount Carmel hosts Ladies Night Out

Beating cancer is worth celebrating! On October 8, Mount Carmel hosted a special event for all breast cancer warriors, whether newly diagnosed or multi-year survivors. More than 100 in-person attendees were treated to giveaways, a light meal and presentation by Melanie Nix, a nationally-know triple negative breast cancer survivor, coach and speaker.

This special event was made possible by generous Mount Carmel Foundation donors.

40 years of service to our communities

Community Health & Well-Being and Hospice mark 40 years of service to our communities

This year, we’re celebrating 40 years of service for two of our most beloved, needed and impactful Mount Carmel programs – Hospice and Bereavement Care Services and Community Health & Well-Being (CHWB)!

Because of you, our generous supporters, the Mount Carmel Foundation is able to fund programs and services to meet essential health and well-being needs, serving as a safety net for people most in need of our care.

  • We provide compassionate care for those with life-limiting illness through Hospice and Bereavement Care to more than a thousand patients and families each year.
  • Our CHWB team provides care and resources for every stage and health challenge in life – from keeping moms and babies healthy, to caring for people experiencing homelessness, to managing chronic diseases, providing counseling to crime victims, and more.

CHWB had more than 125,000 interactions with individuals and families in our community last year, all supported by our generous donors. Watch a special video about CHWB to learn more about the compassionate, essential services they provide to individuals in our communities.

Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to provide $3.6M to support life-changing programs to those we serve in our community. Please consider making a gift today to continue our impact.

Discover Grove City magazine highlights Mount Carmel volunteer’s heart for service

Tony Gerardi has spent more than 500 hours volunteering at Mount Carmel. Discover Grove City’s November/December 2025 issue features Tony on its cover. In the article, he shares the inspirational story of his medical journey, which included extensive hospitalization and eventually, a life-saving heart transplant, which inspired him to become a volunteer.

“When I see someone in a wheelchair, or I’m taking them up to the second floor (for cardiology), it brings back old memories. When I go up there, I’m like, ‘I’ve been here, I know what it’s like’ so when I see these people, I can relate to them,” Tony said.
