A team of Mount Carmel physicians, leaders, clinicians, administrators, and design and construction experts began planning the OR in late 2023. Capital funding for the nearly $5M project was approved in late 2024. Design and installation lasted about 14 months, with the OR seeing its first cases in mid-January.
