The 35-acre campus includes the 240,000 square-foot, 60-bed hospital with a 14-bed emergency department, 10 short-stay beds, four operating rooms and an intensive care unit. In addition to the hospital and emergency department, this campus will offer cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, primary care, and surgical services as well as community health and well-being programs.

Additional Hospital Features:

  • Outpatient lab
  • Interventional lab
  • Endoscopy suite
  • Outpatient radiology services
  • Women’s imaging
  • Inter-Faith Chapel
  • On-site bistro
  • Community meeting space

“At Mount Carmel, we know our patients want to get back to what they love faster. The average length of stay in one of our hospitals is a full day less than the average of other area health systems. Many of the design and care elements built into this new hospital were specifically chosen so that our patients return healthier, more quickly to their homes and families,” says Tauana McDonald, FACHE, President and CEO.

Mount Carmel President and CEO Tauana McDonald, FACHE, shared, “Extending our brand and radically compassionate care into this area makes all the strategic sense in the world. Did you know that more than a half million people live within a 15-minute drive of this new campus? At Mount Carmel, we want it to be easier for everyone to access the care that they need, when they need it and close to home. We’re making that happen.”

Diane Doucette, MBA, RN, executive champion and project leader, provided guests with details about the conception, planning and activation of the new campus. “The activation planning – where we determine how everything here will operate - kicked off in November 2023. One hundred and twenty-five people in 12 different groups representing acute care, population health, Mount Carmel Medical Group, and the Mount Carmel Health Plan, among others, began working on the successful integration of all elements of care from our system into this new hospital and medical campus,” she said.

At the conclusion of the formal remarks, a commissioned custom water color portrait of the campus was unveiled by Deanna and artists Kevin Buckland and Pertain Gillespie. The painting will be displayed near the chapel and donors were thanked with a commemorative print of the art.

We’re celebrating National Volunteer Month!

Last week, Mount Carmel Dublin officially activated its volunteers, capping off a month-long celebration of volunteers throughout the health system. “We’re thrilled by the number of people who have applied to volunteer at the Dublin campus,” says Libby Ballentine, MS, CAVS, CDVS, operations manager, Volunteer Services.

“We take special pride in creating a great volunteer experience at Mount Carmel,” Libby adds. “We celebrate their service throughout the month of April and make sure they feel seen, heard and appreciated.” Some of the activities in April included social events, branded giveaways, awards, and recognition for legacy volunteers who have provided 1,000 hours and five years of service.

The 450 volunteers at Mount Carmel serve as wayfinders, guest services support and welcome ambassadors. In addition to other roles, volunteers support surgery teams by assisting staff at the waiting desk, helping patients, family members and visitors feel informed and cared for throughout the process. “They are a guiding presence throughout the system,” says Libby.

“Mount Carmel volunteers are skilled, dedicated and passionate about giving back to the community. We provide all of the training and support they need to make a difference, make new connections and have fun,” Libby says.
