Mount Carmel Health System Hospitals Earn 19 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals High Performance Ratings

Multiple Mount Carmel Health System hospitals recognized among nation’s top performers in key specialties, procedures and conditions

Mount Carmel Health System hospitals have earned a total of 19 High Performing ratings in the 2026-2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings, recognizing excellence across a range of specialties, procedures and conditions.

High Performing ratings are awarded to hospitals that demonstrate significantly better patient outcomes than the national average and are intended to help patients and families make informed decisions about where to receive care.

To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital's performance based on measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and patient experience. The Best Hospitals Specialty Rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions Ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from over 800 million records of patient care. This year, among other methodology refinements, risk-adjusted outcome measures play a larger and more dominant role in determining the rankings and ratings, while the Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery specialty undergoes its greatest transformation to date.
