Mount Carmel Health System Hospitals Secure Top Honors for Specialty Care from Healthgrades

Mount Carmel New Albany among the top 50 best U.S. hospitals for outpatient orthopedic surgery and outpatient join replacements

Mount Carmel Health System today announced that Mount Carmel New Albany has earned top national honors for outpatient orthopedic surgery and outpatient joint replacement from Healthgrades, the #1 site Americans use to find a doctor or hospital.

Among Mount Carmel New Albany achievements are two Outpatient Excellence Awards, placing the facility among the top 5% nationwide for outpatient orthopedic surgery and outpatient joint replacement as well as among America’s 50 Best for outpatient orthopedic surgery and outpatient joint replacement. In addition to these national awards, Mount Carmel New Albany received two Five-Star Ratings for outpatient total knee replacement and outpatient total hip replacement.

Together, these accolades put Mount Carmel New Albany in the top tier of U.S. hospitals for outpatient care, reflecting the organization’s commitment to superior clinical outcomes for patients undergoing critical outpatient procedures.

Healthgrades’ 2027 analysis found that patients treated at hospitals with nationally recognized outpatient programs had demonstrably better outcomes than those treated at hospitals not recognized for outpatient excellence. In fact, 36,628 complications could have been avoided if all hospitals had performed at the level of five-star-rated facilities during the 2023-2025 study period.*
