Looked at labs on patient portal and they revealed two abnormal values. I have yet to hear any from any of the providers to discuss the abnormality of the labs or the plan moving forward. I mean what do I do now?

During my visit today, I was having an anxiety attack. The receptionist was very kind and ask if I needed anything and offered me a glass of water. Then the nurse said there's no reason for you to be by yourself and brought me back and sat me down and talk to me until the other girl text me back and then my vitals. She also sat with me until Dr. Jolly was ready to see me. I was cared for very well and I could not have asked for better care today.

I'm a new patient and was very nervous, but everyone made me feel at ease, really listened to me, and I left feeling very positive on steps I need to take to improve my health.
Before the visit I had called to update a future appointment in November to move it up so I could get my annual wellness assessment for my insurance. I was told on that call that the DR was not in for my November appointment on the books and I would have to push it out in late November (past the deadline for my insurance). It was very frustrating to hear this since I called and scheduled this appointment months ago so I could make sure I could get in. The scheduler said she would cancel the appointment for November. I call back in the same day and ask them to update my September appointment to take care of the wellness assessment instead of the original appointment since the wellness appointment needed down more immediately and I had no other options this late in the year. I was told by the scheduler that I did not have a Sept appointment but only a November appointment in which the doctor was not in the office. I told the scheduler that the previous person I talked to must have cancelled the wrong appointment and had her put it back on the calendar for the wellness assessment. When I get to my September appointment I get seated in the exam room and the nurse tells me that I am here for a the original reason instead of the wellness assessment I asked the scheduler to change on the appointment notes. I was told by the nurse that if the doctor had time on her schedule she would see my for both. I was frustrated with this whole experience on top of waiting for the doctor for an hour and very hungry since I was also fasting for the wellness assessment I needed to get done that day. The doctor was able to take care of both of my concerns and wellness assessment however my feedback is really for the office scheduling to communicate more proactively and be better at updating the notes for the appointment. An experience is the whole process not just the visit itself.

After a long wait I was put into an examination room. I was left in there for a very long time with no one checking on me to see if I was alright or need anything. I had no explanation as to the long delay. Was two hours after my scheduled time when I left.

At the beginning of the appointment (for an annual physical), I had also requested the scheduling of vaccines for Hepatitis C, as well as for Shingles. By the end of the appointment, we both had forgotten to schedule appointments for one or the other (or both).

Is it routine to have blood drawn, or is this only done if the physician sees a need, and is the fasting directed just in case the physician sees reason to check the blood?
