Columbus, Ohio – Mount Carmel Health System announced today the appointment of Lori Wightman, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CENP, PCC, FAONL, as its new Regional Chief Nursing Officer. 

With more than 30 years of executive nursing experience, across a wide range of healthcare environments including acute care, behavioral health, home care and hospice, outpatient services and medical groups. She is recognized nationally as a transformative nurse executive, mentor and innovator with a deep commitment to improving the caregiver and patient experience. 

Most recently, Wightman served as Senior Director of Professional Practice at the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) and as Professor of Healthcare Operational Excellence at Washington University in St. Louis. Her previous leadership roles include serving as Chief Nurse Executive for SCL Health and Chief Nursing Officer for several regional health systems including Trinity Health in Graying, Michigan and Fresno, California. Wightman is also a published author, national speaker, certified executive coach and an advocate for nursing excellence.
