Cardiac Walk-In Clinic
Same day cardiac evaluation for non-life-threatening cardiac symptoms.
The first of its kind in the Columbus region, Mount Carmel Cardiac Walk-In Clinic aspires to provide quick and effective care to its patients. At our central location, patients are seen on a first come, first serve basis based on capacity and availability. New and existing patients are welcome.
The walk-in clinic is recommended for patients with symptoms that need to be evaluated in a timely manner but are not deemed life-threatening or emergent.
Same day cardiac evaluation for non-life-threatening cardiac symptoms including:
- Chest discomfort (pain, pressure, tightness, heaviness)
- Shortness of breath
- Leg swelling
- Trouble breathing while laying down
- Heart palpitations or rapid heart rate
- Elevated blood pressure
- Need for cardiac assessment prior to an urgent surgery
**If you are experiencing active chest pain or extreme shortness of breath, please call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Room**
Our Approach to Care:

By offering same day evaluations, we prioritize convenience and peace of mind. We understand waiting for answers can be stressful, and our streamlined process aims to minimize your wait time and provide you with prompt results to get you feeling better, faster.
You will have direct access to our medical expertise including same day electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG), heart rhythm monitoring, and labs with further expedited cardiac testing (echocardiogram, stress test, etc.) pending insurance approval. Based on your individualized plan of care we will then work with your Mount Carmel cardiologist or get you established with one of our cardiologists specific to your unique needs.
At Mount Carmel Heart & Vascular Center, patients can expect short wait times, and most major insurance plans are accepted. Regardless of the diagnosis, should higher level care be needed, walk-in patients have direct access to world class follow up care through Mount Carmel Health System’s family of healthcare services.
