Your evaluation may include imaging and functional testing such as echocardiography, CT chest imaging, ventilation–perfusion (V/Q) scanning, pulmonary function testing, six minute walk testing, sleep studies, and lab work. If needed, a right heart catheterization may be performed to confirm the diagnosis.
Treatment depends on the type and severity of pulmonary hypertension. Options may include oral medications, symptom and fluid management, and close monitoring over time.
