Mount Carmel Health System Welcomes Liz Matuk as President of Mount Carmel Medical Group
September 8, 2025Columbus, Ohio – Mount Carmel Health System announced today the appointment of Liz Matuk as President of Mount Carmel Medical Group, effective September 8, 2025. With more than 25 years of experience in healthcare leadership, Matuk has a proven track record in medical group operations, strategic planning and performance improvement.
“Liz is a seasoned leader with a proven ability to drive operational excellence and foster collaborative, patient-centered care,” said Tauana McDonald, President and CEO, Mount Carmel Health System. “Her expertise in practice management and value-based care will be instrumental as we continue to grow and innovate.
In her new role, Matuk will oversee all aspects of Mount Carmel Medical Group’s performance, including operational, clinical, and financial outcomes. She will also be instrumental in advancing Mount Carmel’s ambulatory care strategy, expanding access to care through outpatient centers, imaging, and infusion services.
Prior to joining Mount Carmel, Ms. Matuk served in executive leadership roles at major health systems, including Allegheny Health Network and Cleveland Clinic, where she was responsible for physician group operations, ambulatory strategy, financial performance, and care team redesign. She brings extensive experience in engaging physicians, improving clinical and operational outcomes, and leading growth initiatives across multiple specialties.

Matuk received her Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from Ohio University and her Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
