Vascular Tests
Because early detection can reduce the risk of serious complications, Mount Carmel puts enormous emphasis on screening and diagnosis. Using the most advanced, non-invasive vascular testing, our non-invasive diagnostic facilities put us at the forefront of vascular care. And with ICAVL-accredited peripheral labs at Mount Carmel East, Grove City and St. Ann's, we provide superior imaging for diagnostic angiograms.
Among the screening and diagnostic tools available at Mount Carmel are:
Ultrasound
- We use ultrasound to measure blood flow to diagnose and determine the size and location of blockages in the arteries and veins.
CTA Scan
- CTA, or Computed Tomography Angiography, uses a contrast agent and CT scanner to visualize blood flow throughout the body and identify any irregularities or blockages.
MRI/Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA)
- MRA allows arteries and veins to be evaluated without using X-ray contrast and provides a roadmap for any necessary interventions.
Diagnostic Angiogram
- A diagnostic angiogram is a blood-vessel X-ray that shows blockages or other abnormalities in the veins and arteries.
